Maria Moulin-Stożek is University Professor at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. She received PhD in Law (Criminology) from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, LL.M from Harvard Law School and a Master's in Law from Jagiellonian University. Before joining the UJD Professor Moulin-Stozek worked at various academic positions and research grants at: Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland; University of Birmingham, UK; University of Navarra, Spain; Heidelberg University, Germany; National Institute of Health Carlos III, Spain; Central European University, Hungary; and Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Germany.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of human rights law and criminology. She worked on projects that involved: partner violence among immigrants, impact of experiences of sexual violence on HIV/AIDS; military investigations of suspected violations of international humanitarian law; health care in the criminal justice system, and correctional programs towards domestic violence offenders. Currently, she is a P.I. on a Horizon 2020 project that examines social contexts driving radicalization.

Professionally, Professor Moulin-Stozek worked as a human rights lawyer representing survivors of human rights abuses in applying for refugee and related protections in U.S. and Poland, as well as working as a staff lawyer at the Human Rights Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland with brief Foreign Service experience in Polish Consulates in Malmö and Chicago. She worked also as a consultant for United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Council of Europe and governments on matters of human rights law and criminology.

Professor Moulin-Stozek received external grant funding from the National Science Centre, the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the European Cooperation in Science and Technology, the European Commission and the International Visegrad Fund and several smaller funders.
